Mission Statement

To preserve, operate, and maintain the Camarillo Ranch as an historic site in partnership with our public and private sectors, on a self-sustaining basis; to foster its place in the rich history of California; to transform it into a focal point of the community for education, enrichment, and enjoyment.

In 1998, the City of Camarillo established the Camarillo Ranch Foundation, Inc., as a nonprofit public benefit corporation. The Board of Directors are appointed by the board to operate the Foundation, which continues to meet the first Wednesday of every month.

The Camarillo Ranch was gifted to the City of Camarillo by the Centex Corporation in 1997. Centex had acquired the property from a member of the Camarillo Family. Beginning in 1999, the Foundation initiated the renovation of the 4.5-acre property, including the 1892 Camarillo Ranch House, 1905 Mule Barn and stables, as well as the surrounding gardens.

The Foundation is working to make the Camarillo Ranch a prominent Ventura County venue for community events, school field trips, and film & photo shoots. All revenue earned from events benefits the preservation and education of this historic property.
